Overview

As Head of Engineering in a scale-up, you will own the technical direction and the end-to-end SDLC across a SaaS and legacy-portfolio stack. You will lead multiple autonomous squads, shape a product-led engineering culture, and ensure engineering work translates into measurable customer value. You’ll partner with product leadership to deliver timely releases while maintaining scalable, high-quality systems. This role offers a strategic, hands-on leadership opportunity to impact growth and technology decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across all engineering functions and the full SDLC
  • Define, implement, and continuously refine the technical strategy for the R&D organization
  • Lead and develop multiple autonomous development squads with a high-performance, product-led culture
  • Embed a partner-first mindset to deliver measurable commercial and customer value
  • Drive execution excellence and adopt modern engineering practices and tools to improve efficiency and quality
  • Oversee legacy platforms and SaaS portfolios, ensuring scalability, performance, and relevance
  • Promote continuous improvement, innovation, clarity, accountability, and collaboration
  • Serve as a technical thought leader guiding teams through challenges in a fast-paced scale-up environment
Key requirements
  • 7+ years in SaaS Engineering Management
  • At least 3 years in a senior leadership or head-of-function role
  • Proven ability to lead engineering teams to deliver outcomes
  • Commercial mindset linking technical outcomes to customer success and revenue growth
  • Strategic communicator with ability to influence across exec, commercial, and technical teams
  • Execution-focused with hands-on technology ownership
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams ecosystem (Teams Phone, Direct Routing, Operator Connect) and related analytics/integration capabilities
  • Experience partnering with Head of Product and Product Owners to ensure quality releases
  • Proficiency with Python, Java, C#, TypeScript
  • Experience with Teams Phone, call recording, analytics, or BI integrations
  • Background in partner-led SaaS go-to-market models
  • Familiarity with AI, API-driven integration, or data enrichment solutions
