Head of IT

In this senior, hands-on leadership role, you will steer the IT function and shape the organisation’s technology strategy. You’ll lead the internal IT team, own infrastructure and security, and collaborate with the leadership team to align tech with business goals. The role focuses on delivering a robust, scalable IT environment, improving resilience and efficiency, and guiding technology change. This is an opportunity to directly influence the IT roadmap and demonstrate ownership across technology domains.

• Lead and develop the internal IT function and provide technical leadership
• Define and deliver IT strategy and technology roadmap
• Own IT infrastructure, networks, cloud environments, and business systems
• Ensure cyber security, governance, backup and disaster recovery
• Manage IT budgets, suppliers, licensing and third-party partners
• Oversee infrastructure and systems projects from planning to delivery
• Review technology to improve performance and resilience
• Establish IT policies, processes and service standards
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to translate business priorities into tech solutions
• Support and develop the IT team while contributing technically when needed

• Senior technology leadership experience (service desk manager, IT Manager, Head of IT, IT Director or similar)
• Strong infrastructure, cloud, and business-critical systems experience
• Solid understanding of cyber security, governance, risk, and DR
• Experience in building and developing technical teams
• Budget, supplier, and vendor management experience
• Track record of delivering IT projects and technology change
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Pragmatic, commercially minded with balance between strategy and delivery
