Head of IT Systems

In this role, you lead and shape the Systems Delivery team within the Global Platforms area in London, partnering with IT Operations to deliver reliable, secure services. You will set standards for service delivery, mentor engineers, and align IT work with business needs, including integration efforts and responding to changes such as acquisitions. You drive proactive design improvements and collaborate with information security to manage risk. This is a hands-on leadership position with 24x7 escalation responsibilities and cross-functional impact.

• Line management of the systems engineering team, including performance management and upskilling
• Act as escalation point for engineering and operations teams
• Collaborate with the business to understand needs and plan delivery
• Set delivery standards for services across the organization
• Proactively identify design issues and address before user impact
• Mentor engineers on design and implementation
• Collaborate with information security to mitigate risks
• Coordinate with suppliers to define and deliver solutions
• Support cross-functional, 24x7 operations and on-call requirements
• Adapt to evolving business contexts such as integrations or acquisitions

• Experienced lead engineer or hands-on architect with team leadership and individual contribution experience
• Customer-oriented with a focus on service delivery and continuous improvement
• Excellent communication skills across phone, chat, and face-to-face

• Experience working with suppliers to specify and deliver solutions
• Flexible to work outside core hours for global operations
