Overview

As Head of Network Operations, you will lead the safe, reliable operation of the electricity network within a growing utilities business. You will oversee network control, maintenance, fault response and performance, shaping strategies, standards, and processes to support expansion. You’ll also hold Control Engineer responsibilities for switching and real-time operations, driving reliability and regulatory compliance. This role offers ownership and impact as the network scales.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee safe and efficient operation of the electricity network
  • Lead network control, switching, fault response and outage management
  • Develop maintenance and network management strategies, including SCADA
  • Drive network reliability, resilience, compliance and operational performance
  • Manage contractors, budgets and relationships with customers, developers and regulators
Key requirements
  • Strong background in electricity distribution / network operations
  • Experience operating networks at 132kV
  • Strong understanding of HV/EHV switching, network safety and fault response
  • Authorised Person (AP) status
  • Experience with SCADA / network control systems and operational leadership
