Overview

In this role you will lead and evolve a scalable, secure platform that empowers product engineering teams to deliver software rapidly. You will manage and grow a ~20-strong mix of internal and external engineers, shaping a high-performing, collaborative culture. You’ll drive modern Platform Engineering and DevOps practices, with a focus on automation, self-service tooling, and reliable, observable infrastructure. This is a strategic leadership role with impact on cloud, data streaming, and developer experience, aligned with the company’s technology and innovation priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a ~20-person Platform Engineering team (internal and external)
  • Foster an inclusive, high-performing engineering culture and manage delivery priorities
  • Oversee scalable, secure, reliable platform infrastructure and operations
  • Advance Infrastructure as Code adoption (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Drive Kubernetes evolution and centralized tooling for self-service
  • Ensure platform services are resilient, observable, and scalable
  • Define and evolve cloud architecture across AWS and GCP
  • Guide event-driven data streaming with Kafka
  • Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, and Ops to align platform capabilities with needs
  • Promote continuous improvement with monitoring, logging, and data-driven improvements
Key requirements
  • Significant experience leading Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE or Cloud Engineering teams
  • Experience managing sizeable engineering teams (internal and external)
  • Strong knowledge of AWS and/or GCP and cloud-native architecture
  • Extensive experience with Kubernetes and containerised environments
  • Strong Terraform and Ansible experience
  • Experience designing event-driven architectures using Kafka
  • Understanding of CI/CD, automation, and modern DevOps practices
  • Experience building internal platforms, developer tooling and self-service capabilities
  • Strong focus on reliability, observability, security and scalability
  • Ability to use engineering metrics to drive improvements and to influence senior stakeholders
