Head of Software Engineering - Personalisation and Post Purchase & Customer Support

In this Head of Software Engineering role, you’ll lead engineering managers and cross-functional squads to deliver robust, scalable solutions in the Personalisation product group. You will shape technical strategy, drive modern engineering practices, and own product health and outcomes. You’ll collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Delivery teams to solve complex, customer-centric problems and build a best-in-class engineering organization. • Lead and develop Engineering Managers and teams, fostering a learning culture and high-quality standards
• Shape strategy with Product, Delivery and Technology leadership; prioritise roadmaps and maximise value
• Drive technical excellence: DevOps, clean code, architecture design, standard frameworks, and North Star principles
• Own Product Group outcomes and health: set OKRs, ensure reliability, SLI/SLO, and operational support

• Significant hands-on experience as a polyglot senior software engineer across front-end, back-end, APIs, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience leading large product areas with 5+ teams
• Knowledge of Personalisation, Recommendation and Search concepts in e-commerce
• Ability to design and evolve complex systems with deep software architecture and cloud-native patterns
• Proven track record delivering, operating, and scaling software at Product Group level and above; building and hiring senior engineers
• Advanced DevOps, testing and reliability engineering expertise with CI/CD, observability, and ownership model
• Experience collaborating with Product and Data Science teams to translate ambiguous requirements into robust solutions
• Technically credible people leader capable of coaching and influencing senior engineers and managers
