Head of Sub-Systems - Sea Ceptor

In this role you lead the development and delivery into service of major Sea Ceptor subsystem equipment, reporting to the chief engineer. You direct the Design Authorities and ensure on-time, on-cost, and quality delivery across multiple programs. You drive coherence and convergence across Sea Ceptor, Sea Viper, and Land Ceptor product lines, shaping system evolution. This is a high-impact leadership position at MBDA in Bristol, aligned with cutting-edge naval defence capabilities.

• Deliver subsystem Certificates of Design and lead Design Authorities to ensure on-time, cost, and quality delivery
• Guide multiple concurrent development programmes and environments for subsystem development
• Manage mid-life updates and obsolescence, plus in-service product support
• Oversee Subsystem Safety activities and integrate outputs across subsystems
• Provide oversight for new bids for subsystem tasks and cross-program collaboration
• Ensure subsystem product lines evolve to meet Sea Ceptor needs and align with other programmes across product lines

• Experience delivering complex work packages with risk and opportunity management
• Proven ability to build strong cross-team relationships and lead collaboratively
