High Speed Digital and Hardware Design Lead

Our client in the Defence & Security sector is seeking a High Speed Digital and Hardware Design Lead to join their innovative team. This is a permanent role ideally suited to someone passionate about working with advanced MPSoC FPGAs and AI acceleration hardware. This opportunity is based in either Stevenage or Bristol, with the possibility of a relocation package.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of high speed MPSoC FPGA and AI hardware solutions
• Collaborate with systems, software, firmware, mechanical, and production teams to specify and deliver optimised solutions
• Design high speed digital aspects and oversee all electronics design activities through the full product development lifecycle
• Support board level test and debug using VHDL, C, C++, or Python
• Ensure designs meet customer needs and maintain high professional standards
• Work within security constraints, ensuring compliance with required security clearance

Job Requirements:

• Solid experience in complex, high speed digital electronics design
• Experience in MPSoC FPGA, DDR and Flash memory, and high speed serial interconnect design
• Proficiency in SI and PI Analysis
• Familiarity with DSP concepts for SDR, radar signal processing, and optical sensors
• Ability to develop elegant hardware architectures through detailed understanding and collaboration
• Strong academic background to support this intellectually demanding role
• Excellent skills in configuring and documenting designs
• Strong desire to drive collaboration and ensure successful delivery
