Locums - Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, Hospice & Palliative Care Job

Start Date: 12/14/2026

Schedule & Coverage:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

  • Primarily remote, with initial onsite orientation and occasional in-person visits as needed

  • Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings every other week, Tuesday-Thursday

  • Rotating telephone-only call coverage every fourth week, Sunday-Saturday

Practice Details:

  • Hospice and palliative medicine

  • Primarily remote practice setting

  • Patient population: Primarily adult hospice patients

  • EMR: Epic

  • Support from an interdisciplinary hospice team, nursing staff, and clinical support staff

  • Nursing staff handle in-person visits and death pronouncements

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Complete hospice admissions and eligibility assessments

  • Perform hospice recertifications and provide verbal certifications

  • Manage patient symptoms and prescribe medications

  • Provide clinical oversight and support to the hospice care team

  • Complete required clinical documentation

  • Complete death certificates as needed

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Active Missouri medical license

  • Active DEA

  • Hospice experience required

  • Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine preferred

  • Internal Medicine or Hospitalist board certification/background may be considered with demonstrated hospice experience
