Overview

In this role you will lead the council’s housing asset data management to underpin asset decisions and capital investment. You will work with the Housing Asset Surveyor and Property Services to ensure accurate data supports compliance, asset planning and service delivery. You will transform data quality, develop dashboards and BI insights to inform investment strategies. This is a hands-on, cross‑functional role with a clear impact on housing investments across a large residential portfolio. You’ll join a collaborative, forward-looking team focused on improving housing services and decision‑making through robust data.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop the councils housing asset data systems and databases
  • Oversee quality and integrity of stock condition, compliance and property information
  • Analyse stock condition data with surveying colleagues to generate insights
  • Produce performance reports and dashboards to inform investment planning
  • Improve data quality and streamline reporting processes
  • Support ongoing development of asset management systems and business intelligence tools
  • Collaborate with asset managers, surveyors and operational teams to drive data‑driven decisions

Key requirements
  • Experience managing housing asset, property or compliance-related data in local authority, housing association or similar environment
  • Strong understanding of asset management principles and property data management
  • Advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL or similar BI tools
  • Experience managing large datasets, reporting systems and asset databases
  • Ability to analyse complex information and present actionable insights
  • Experience developing dashboards and management information
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
