HPC & AI Application Performance Engineer

In this role you will analyse and optimise HPC and AI applications for high-impact customers across EMEA and LATAM. You will work onsite with UK clients and remotely with regional teams, driving performance, scalability, and value from HPC/AI investments. You’ll act as a bridge between customer support and R&D, shaping workloads and tooling. This is a hands-on, collaborative role in a fast-moving, research-led environment with a clear impact on customers’ scientific and engineering outcomes.

- Provide advanced technical expertise to HPE HPC and AI customer environments across EMEA and LATAM
- Analyse applications and workloads to identify performance, optimisation, and scalability opportunities
- Investigate complex software and infrastructure issues and liaise between customer support and R&D
- Support large-scale HPC and AI bids and tenders with technical input
- Deliver technical workshops, trainings, and presentations for customers and colleagues
- Share knowledge and best practices within the team and HPC/AI community
- Contribute to development of tools, methodologies, and research initiatives to improve productivity and service delivery
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- UK citizenship with ability to obtain security clearances
- Strong understanding of HPC/AI architectures and performance analysis techniques
- Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues with engineering/R&D teams
- Programming in C/C++/Fortran; strong Python
- Experience with CUDA/OpenACC/OpenMP Offload
- Knowledge of MPI and OpenMP parallel frameworks
- Familiarity with build systems, scripting, batch processing
- Experience using performance profiling and optimisation tools
- Strong communication skills; fluent English
