HVDC Project Financial Analyst

Support Manitoba Hydro’s HVDC Reliability Program in Winnipeg through project accounting, financial analysis, and detailed cost management.

Reporting to a Project Financial Support Lead, this Project Accountant provides financial expertise for portfolio projects. The work covers planning, budgeting, reporting, cost controls, and analysis. It also supports internal customers and management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project performance, trends, variances, and financial results
• Advise management through clear financial interpretation and insights
• Monitor project and contract expenditures with effective controls
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages
• Manage SAP master data, estimates, capitalization, and retirement information

Requirements:

• Professional Accounting designation and two years of related experience
• Knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles, practices, and controls
• Advanced financial systems knowledge, including SAP, is an asset
• Expertise with Microsoft products, especially Excel spreadsheets
• Strong communication, collaboration, initiative, and independent work skills
