Hyperion Essbase Developer/Analyst

Location: Toronto: Hybrid 2 days a week in office

Job Summary

We are looking for a Hyperion Essbase Developer/Analyst with approximately 2 years of hands‑on experience in supporting the design, development, and maintenance of Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions, with a strong focus on Essbase and data integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Essbase Calc Scripts, MaxL scripts, and business rules.
• Design and manage data load rules, mappings, and ETL processes for loading data into Essbase/Planning applications.
• Create and maintain reports and dashboards using Smart View and related reporting tools.
• Manage metadata, including dimensions and hierarchies, and administer security provisioning.
• Provide technical support, troubleshoot system and performance issues, and optimize Hyperion environment performance.

Required Skills & Experience

2+ years of hands‑on experience with Oracle Hyperion Essbase (On‑Premises and Cloud platforms).

Strong technical expertise in:

• Essbase Calc Scripts
• MaxL
• MDX
• FDMEE / Data Integration
• Experience with Smart View reporting and dashboard development.
• Understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.

The role is primarily focused on technical development and support, including building and maintaining Calc Scripts, MaxL, MDX, data loads (FDMEE), security management, reporting (HFR/Smart View), and troubleshooting activities. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of financial processes and be comfortable working in a developer‑focused EPM/BI environment.
