IAM Platform Engineer – Identity, Entitlements & Authorisation

In London, G-Research seeks a Software Engineer to design and scale IAM infrastructure, collaborating with technology stakeholders to deliver secure, efficient access control. You will ship Backstage plugins and React apps, build scalable backend services on Linux and Kubernetes, and own CI/CD pipelines. The role emphasizes on-call responsibilities, incident reviews, and mentoring, within a culture of security and automation. You’ll help shape a transform‑ative IAM platform that enables secure exploration and innovation across the firm.

• Build and evolve Backstage plugins and React web experiences
• Design, implement and operate scalable backend services on Linux and Kubernetes
• Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins and Argo CD
• Take full operational ownership including on-call and post-incident reviews
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and tech talks
• Identify workflow friction and prototype solutions with stakeholders
• Collaborate with Technology to translate complex requirements into secure, scalable solutions

• Full stack software engineering experience with React and a strongly typed language (Java or C#)
• Solid understanding of software architecture, concurrency, algorithms and data structures
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming using Java or C#
• Interest in security domain and willingness to learn and collaborate on complex challenges
