I&C Engineer - Nuclear

ALTEN UK seeks an Instrumentation & Control Engineer to join a high-impact nuclear energy programme in Bristol. • Interpret and support the development of logic diagrams, block diagrams, and process displays for control systems
• Assist in designing and reviewing I&C system architecture, ensuring integration within nuclear-grade environments
• Work within control rooms and operator environments, supporting HMI logic and display validation
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure functional logic supports system performance and safety needs
• Apply understanding of PLC systems and logic flow without direct involvement in PLC coding or development
• Contribute to documentation, configuration management, and design tracking as per regulated project standards

• Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
• Junior Engineer with up to 3-12 years of experience in I&C, electrical, or systems engineering
• Knowledge of logic systems, HMI design, and control room engineering environments
• Strong ability to interpret technical diagrams and process flowcharts
• Comfortable working in highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, defence, or energy infrastructure
• Exposure to PLC environments (e.g. Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell) – understanding logic but no PLC coding required
