Index Distribution Software Engineer

In this role you will help build a modern, cloud-native distribution platform for FTSE Russell’s index products, delivering reliable, high-quality data to clients across channels. You’ll join a cross-functional team focused on scalable, secure distribution infrastructure and a delightful consumption experience. The role blends backend, frontend, and cloud work to ensure timely delivery of analytics and product data stores. • Build the next generation of index distribution platforms to deliver a seamless consumption experience
• Develop scalable, secure cloud-native architectures for data distribution
• Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL), possible NoSQL and lakehouse tech (Iceberg)
• Design scalable data models with peer review and governance input
• Contribute to code reviews and participate in collaborative design across cloud, data, and analytics
• Embed a testing culture with automated/integrated tests
• Partner with global teams to define and deliver cross-functional solutions
• Support on-time, on-budget delivery meeting functional and non-functional requirements
• Engage in learning, experimentation, and innovative design to improve product experiences

• Proficient in TypeScript, Python, and JavaScript (Angular)
• Willingness to learn new languages and technologies
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, Glue, EKS, SQS, SNS)
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and DynamoDB; exposure to NoSQL and lakehouse (Iceberg) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to break down problems
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins) and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• UI development experience with Angular (8+) and web technologies (HTML/CSS)
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and meet deadlines
