Overview

In this senior role, you will design and implement equity and commodity index solutions from London, blending technical, quantitative, and commercial skills to support business growth. You will work closely with clients and cross-functional teams to tailor indices to investment objectives and oversee production deployment. Expect rigorous data analysis, back-testing, and methodology validation, using Python and the ICE Index Platform. This is a proactive, client‑facing position that shapes future index products within a global framework.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with asset managers, ETF providers, and institutional clients to identify needs and opportunities
  • Design and implement equity and commodity index methodologies (market-cap, equal-weight, factor-based, ESG, thematic) and ensure regulatory alignment
  • Collaborate with quant and development teams to deploy indices into production
  • Conduct rigorous quantitative analysis, back-testing, risk/return analytics, and performance attribution
  • Utilize the ICE Index Platform for construction, profiling, and customization; drive workflow improvements for accuracy and scalability
  • Conduct ad hoc research on market trends, factor performance, and commodity pricing; stay updated on smart beta and ESG themes
Key requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Math, Finance, Engineering, Physics, or Technology; advanced degree a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Python for quantitative analysis and back-testing
  • Advanced Excel; familiarity with SQL is a plus
  • CFA/CIPM advantageous
  • Deep understanding of equity index construction methodologies (market-cap, equal-weight, factor-based, ESG, thematic) and commodity index methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills for client-facing interactions and presentations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
