Industrial Automation Engineer Vancouver

Design automated systems with LAPORTE as an Automation Engineer in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, or Lethbridge, working in a hybrid model. Apply industrial automation expertise across project delivery.

This Automation Engineer supports pharmaceutical, food and beverage, biotechnology, and industrial manufacturing projects. You will define customer needs, select controls and instrumentation, and program automated systems. The position also covers commissioning, cost control, scheduling, and supplier coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define customer needs for automated engineering systems
• Design controls, instrumentation, motor controls, and panels
• Participate in system testing and commissioning activities
• Manage planning, budgets, schedules, resources, and change control
• Prepare specifications, plans, estimates, and project reports

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in automated production or electrical engineering
• Professional engineering membership in Alberta or British Columbia
• Five to six years of industrial automation experience
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley, Rockwell, and Siemens products
• Occasional client and external manufacturing site travel
