Infrastructure Developer

In this role you will design and build the API fabric that connects the CMDB to every layer of the infrastructure, from provisioning to cloud and storage. You will own API interactions across bare metal, network, compute, storage, and platforms, driving self-service automation to reduce manual work. The role blends software engineering with infrastructure automation, centered on a FastAPI-based CMDB API layer and event-driven workflows. You will operate in a high-skill, cross-functional environment and shape multi-year automation strategy for the firm.

• Design and own the API interaction model across infrastructure domains (bare metal provisioning, network fabric, virtualization and cloud, storage).
• Build end-to-end automation pipelines to remove handoffs between teams and enable self-service within policy guardrails.
• Develop event-driven workflows using Knative/Eventing to propagate state changes across systems.
• Create self-service interfaces (APIs, CLIs, internal portals) for delegated infrastructure operations.
• Implement policy-as-code to enforce security and segmentation via the CMDB and automation layer.
• Lead API engineering triage: scope, validate, and coordinate new automation initiatives.
• Maintain vendor API roadmaps and plan integrations across multiple infrastructure providers.
• Own CMDB schema design, data modeling, and evolution to capture cross-domain relationships.
• Collaborate with Platform, Network, Storage, Cloud, and Security teams and communicate with business stakeholders.
• Contribute to Infrastructure Platform Direction, promoting generation of infrastructure from high-level needs.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of software development focusing on infrastructure automation, systems integration, or platform engineering
• Production-quality Python development; experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, and async Python
• API design expertise (RESTful APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, versioning, pagination, error handling)
• Relational database schema design (PostgreSQL preferred) with normalization and migrations
• Infrastructure domain knowledge in at least two areas (bare metal provisioning, network/configuration, storage, virtualization, or cloud)
• Systems integration experience: API lifecycles across multiple upstream dependencies
• Strong verbal/written communication; experience presenting to senior leadership
• Experience with Atlassian stack (Jira, Confluence) and Git (GitLab)
