Overview

In this role you will support a large Windows server estate within a financial services environment, driving infrastructure modernisation and security-focused improvements. You’ll work as part of the infrastructure team on server builds, deployments, patching and migrations, contributing to reliable, scalable operations. The role blends hands-on administration with automation to improve efficiency, with hybrid London-site work and on-call duties. A current SC clearance is required to engage on sensitive projects.

Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, deploy, maintain and retire Windows servers
  • Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy; oversee VMware vSphere environments
  • Develop PowerShell scripts to automate tasks and improve efficiency
  • Perform patching, OS upgrades, security hardening and vulnerability remediation
  • Troubleshoot and support enterprise infrastructure; participate in migrations, upgrades and refreshes
  • Follow ITIL processes; maintain documentation; participate in on-call/out-of-hours work

Key requirements
  • Windows Server – enterprise administration, builds, deployments, maintenance and decommissioning
  • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • VMware vSphere administration
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
  • Server security practices, patching and hardening
  • Experience with infrastructure troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • SC clearance (Active)
  • Desirable: Azure, MECM/SCCM, Microsoft Intune, IaC, Linux
