Infrastructure Engineer

In this role you will support storage and backup environments within the Aerospace Defence and Security sector, helping to ensure reliable data services for critical missions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to manage BAU tasks, capacity planning, and performance tuning across multiple environments. You will act as a technical escalation point and contribute to future large-scale projects across Europe. This position combines hands-on storage administration with a focus on security, compliance, and continuous improvement.

• Provide technical escalation and expert guidance for Storage and Backup issues
• Manage BAU ticketing and task tracking for storage and backup
• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and storage optimisation across multiple environments
• Collaborate with projects teams on upcoming large-scale European-wide initiatives
• Support storage and backup upgrades and lifecycle processes
• Assist with policy design, scheduling, retention, and restore/recovery workflows

• Knowledge of storage services, hardware deployment, configuration, and administration
• Experience with NAS/SAN provisioning and NFS/SMB shares
• SVMs (Storage Virtual Machines) and NetApp experience preferred
• Experience upgrading storage appliances and related processes
• Fibre channel zoning and LUN creation (preferable)
• Backup tooling experience, Veeam preferred
• Snapshot-based backups and robotic library systems knowledge
• Administration of backup technologies, retention and restore workflows
• Regulatory, encryption, retention, and audit requirements are a bonus
• SC clearance eligibility (must be British citizen)
