Infrastructure Engineer (Storage/Backup)

As a Systems Engineer in Visa's Storage Operations team, you will maintain the security and availability of storage and SAN infrastructure while enabling automation and IaC-driven tasks. You’ll serve as a Level 2 escalation point and collaborate across engineering, operations, and risk groups to support complex Open Systems Storage and Backup environments. The role includes on-call rotation and a steady shift pattern, contributing to scalable, reliable storage solutions that underpin Visa’s global platforms. This is a problem-solving, cross-functional position at scale that helps safeguard data and enable rapid, secure data flows.

• Maintain security, availability, and performance of Storage and SAN infrastructure
• Automate infrastructure tasks using SRE principles and infrastructure as code
• Provision complex storage, perform advanced maintenance, enable data replication, disaster recovery, and data migration
• Provide expert support for SAN, NAS, and Backup devices across tiers with minimal supervision
• Act as on-call support for the infrastructure and systems
• Collaborate with Systems, Database, Engineering, Asset Management, Product Development, Operations, Audit and Risk, and other technology groups

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field (preferred)
• 0.5–3.5 years of commercial experience (associate level)
• Experience with UNIX (Linux, AIX, Solaris), VMware or other hypervisors, and Windows environments
• Excellent oral and written communication and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to self-learn new storage technologies
• Monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
