Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Contract: Until April 2027
Location: Cardiff (Primarily Remote with Quarterly Onsite Attendance)

We are currently seeking multiple Senior Infrastructure Engineers to join a high-profile public sector programme focused on delivering secure, resilient, and modern infrastructure services.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in the design, delivery, support, and continuous improvement of critical infrastructure and platform services. Youll work within a highly skilled engineering team, helping to ensure systems remain secure, available, and resilient while driving automation and operational excellence across the estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and maintain secure, resilient infrastructure and platform services
  • Champion security best practices across infrastructure design, configuration, and operations
  • Support infrastructure hardening, vulnerability management, monitoring, and incident response activities
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and security teams to improve platform reliability and security posture
  • Provide expert guidance on secure environments, configuration management, and identity and access management
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure services
  • Ensure solutions align with security standards, compliance requirements, and industry best practice
  • Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong Linux administration and engineering experience
  • Proven experience with AWS cloud technologies
  • Hands-on Terraform expertise for Infrastructure as Code
  • Containerisation experience using Docker
  • Strong scripting and automation skills with Bash and Python
  • Excellent understanding of security principles and secure infrastructure design
  • Experience with infrastructure hardening and vulnerability remediation
  • Knowledge of identity and access management concepts
  • Experience working within complex enterprise environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within government or highly regulated environments
  • Exposure to incident management and operational support activities
  • Understanding of compliance-driven infrastructure delivery
