Overview
As Infrastructure Operations Engineer in HMRC's Enterprise Cloud Services, you ensure reliable, secure cloud platforms that host mission-critical services. You’ll monitor, respond to incidents, manage changes, and push automation and IaC to tighten resilience. The role offers architecture exposure, cloud transformation, and leadership responsibilities within a diverse, collaborative team. You help optimise performance, security, and cost while supporting cross-functional releases at scale.

- Lead by example in technical leadership and problem-solving
- Experience operating in AWS or Azure
- Incident & problem management and RCA capability
- Proficiency with Linux systems administration
- Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform preferred)
- Knowledge of GitLab CI/CD, pipelines, runners, secrets management
- Scripting skills (Python, Go, or Bash)
