Overview

In this role you will lead the automation of Windows infrastructure and the delivery pipeline within a fintech environment. You will act as the technical authority for IT infrastructure, shaping scalable, secure, and highly available platforms across on‑premises and cloud locations. You will build a new DevOps function, collaborating with operations, developers, and stakeholders to automate OS builds, provisioning, and upgrades. This offers hands-on scope to influence infrastructure design and drive rapid, merit‑based career progression.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, design, implement, document and manage computing, network and storage infrastructure for security, performance and availability
  • Act as Technical Authority for all Infrastructure services
  • Design, deliver, automate, operate and manage platform servers (physical and virtual)
  • Design, deliver, automate, operate and manage platform storage systems and capacity planning
  • Develop operating system build processes
  • Design, implement and operate end-to-end platform monitoring systems
Key requirements
  • 5 years experience with Windows systems, support and automation
  • Excellent PowerShell scripting
  • Knowledge of Windows DSC
  • Strong technical leadership experience
  • Understanding of how tasks should be automated
  • Documentation creation and management
  • Virtualisation including Hyper-V and SCVMM
  • Microsoft platforms including Windows Server 2008R2/2012R2, IIS 7/8
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP and the OSI stack
  • Active Directory
  • Enterprise server estates including blade systems and high-density servers
  • Enterprise networking including Cisco
  • Office 365, AWS or Azure
  • Cloud platforms (IaaS/PaaS)
  • Version/source control systems
  • Some Linux knowledge
  • Experience with at least one configuration management system (SCCM, Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
