Overview
In this role you guide enterprise Databricks deployments across AWS, Azure, or GCP from design to production. You bridge architecture decisions with customer outcomes, ensuring secure, scalable cloud implementations. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex needs and influence product direction with customer feedback. This position offers hands-on architecture work, IaC, and security-focused responsibilities in a fast-paced data platform environment.
Responsibilities- Guide full lifecycle Databricks deployments on customer cloud platforms, from architectural design to production deployment
- Architect secure and scalable enterprise deployments addressing networking, identity, and security compliance
- Specialize in cloud infrastructure, IaC, cloud networking, and identity management, contributing to complex customer solutions
- Demonstrate Databricks differentiation through custom-built solutions in competitive deals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design solutions for customer needs
- Operate with growing autonomy on well-scoped engagements under guidance from senior architects
- Provide structured feedback on customer requirements and competitive gaps to influence product direction
- Drive platform adoption and consumption growth within accounts
- 4+ years in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or senior technical role
- Strong expertise in cloud security controls, identity management, and compliance (IAM, Entra ID/Azure AD, SAML, OAuth, SCIM)
- Experience with enterprise cloud networking design (VPC/VNet, peering, direct interconnects) and private connectivity
- Platform administration knowledge (HA, DR, observability, cost management)
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and cloud-native tooling (CloudFormation/CDK, ARM/Bicep, Deployment Manager)
- Strong coding skills in Python and PySpark/Spark with live coding ability
- Solid background in distributed data systems, lakehouse patterns, and cloud-native data platforms
- Proficiency with Databricks Platform and ability to rapidly gain specialization (e.g., streaming, ML/AI, data governance)
- Excellent communication skills for technical and executive audiences
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience
- Willingness to travel up to 30%
