In this senior Infrastructure role, you will lead planning, deployment, and governance of security patches across the bank's core infrastructure. You will collaborate with Cyber Security and Operations to prioritise remediation and ensure regulatory compliance while minimising risk and maintaining availability. You’ll provide technical leadership across Windows, Linux, virtualization, cloud, and storage, driving patching programmes at scale. This is a chance to shape secure, reliable enterprise infrastructure in a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities- Lead security patch management: plan, schedule, deploy, and govern patches across core infrastructure.
- Assess vulnerabilities and set patching priorities based on risk and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate monthly and emergency patch cycles across multiple domains.
- Validate patch deployment success and remediate failed installations.
- Support vulnerability remediation programmes and ensure timely closure of findings.
- Provide technical leadership across core infrastructure (Windows Server, Linux/UNIX, virtualization, AD, DNS/DHCP, storage, backup, middleware, cloud, network).
- Maintain high availability and operational stability during patch activities; develop rollback/recovery strategies.
- Work with Cyber Security and Vulnerability Management to prioritise remediation and ensure compliance.
- Lead Change Management for infrastructure changes, with implementation plans and post-review.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities and enhance monitoring, reporting, and compliance dashboards.
- Collaborate with multiple teams and communicate risks and patch status to stakeholders.
- SME experience in security patch deployment within infrastructure.
- Banking or highly regulated environments experience.
- Deep Windows Server and Linux administration knowledge.
- Experience with VMware/Hyper-V virtualization.
- Strong AD, DNS, DHCP, PKI/identity infrastructure knowledge.
- Storage, backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability experience.
- Extensive enterprise security patching programme delivery experience.
- Vulnerability management and remediation process understanding; CVSS, risk-based prioritisation.
- Stakeholder management and cross-team collaboration
- Strong communication of risks and remediation plans
- Analytical problem solving and decision making
- Azure and AWS infrastructure experience
- Infrastructure as Code concepts and automation tooling
- SCCM/MECM, Intune, WSUS
