Infrastructure Specialist

As an Infrastructure Specialist, you will drive the simplification and modernization of our technology estate, focusing on secure, resilient cloud platforms. You’ll collaborate with engineers, architects and stakeholders to assess and retire legacy infrastructure, support data centre exit efforts, and optimise costs across large-scale enterprise environments. This role offers impact at scale within a transformation focused on efficiency, risk management and regulatory alignment. You’ll work in a hybrid setup across Halifax, Leeds or Manchester, delivering meaningful change in a complex tech landscape.

• Assess and rationalise legacy infrastructure across servers, storage, networks, databases and middleware
• Support data centre exit and consolidation programmes and assess readiness for migration or retirement
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and service owners to validate findings and remediate plans
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through infrastructure rationalisation and track realised benefits
• Ensure activities align with governance, resilience and regulatory requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives supporting the transformation agenda
• Investigate dependencies and decommissioning opportunities in complex environments
• Participate in on-call rota as part of role requirements

• Extensive experience with multiple technology stacks in infrastructure roles
• Good understanding of Jira Align and agile methodologies
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work across diverse technologies
• Strong stakeholder management abilities
• Experience supporting and managing enterprise infrastructure platforms
• Experience with Agile ways of working
• Experience with performance tuning and optimisation
• Analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
