Overview

In this role, you lead the Infrastructure team responsible for the systems powering our AI research, from bare metal GPU clusters to internal services. You shape the technical direction, ensure reliability, and drive improvements across the stack. You coach engineers and develop careers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to reduce toil and scale our infrastructure. This is a hands-on leadership role at a company focused on delivering cutting-edge speech AI solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and develop the Infrastructure Engineers, setting clear objectives and fostering a high-performance culture
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and development planning
  • Own operational stability across infrastructure, including hardware monitoring, troubleshooting and disaster recovery testing
  • Act as escalation point for technical/operational issues and drive major incident resolution
  • Lead infrastructure strategy, capacity planning and project prioritisation
  • Drive standardisation, automation and optimization to reduce toil
  • Manage vendor relationships with hardware vendors, MSPs and external contacts
Key requirements
  • Proven experience in an Infrastructure Team Lead or Senior Engineer role with people management and coaching skills
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers and supporting career development
  • Strong desire for deep learning on the job and knowledge breadth across infrastructure
  • Broad knowledge of infrastructure for distributed systems (OS, observability tooling, networking, storage, containers, orchestration)
  • Comfort with troubleshooting Linux systems (Ubuntu)
  • Solid experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience with bare metal provisioning (PXE)
  • Strong networking skills (DNS/DHCP/IPAM)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to influence at all levels
