We're recruiting an experienced
Infrastructure Team Lead
to join the IT function of a large global organisation in Newcastle. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience leading technical teams who enjoys the
people management side of the role , while maintaining a good understanding of the underlying technology. You'll manage an established team working across
servers, storage and networking , taking responsibility for their day-to-day management, development and performance. You'll also work closely with wider infrastructure teams and management across a global IT environment. The role Your focus will be on
leading and supporting the team , ensuring workloads are managed effectively and people have the support and development they need to perform at their best. Responsibilities will include: Leading, coaching and developing a team of infrastructure professionals Holding regular
1-to-1s
and supporting individual development Managing
absence, performance, holidays and team capacity Coordinating workloads and priorities across the team Supporting engineers with technical issues and escalations Providing oversight across
Microsoft infrastructure, Azure and networking Encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing between infrastructure disciplines Supporting the delivery of infrastructure projects and improvements Helping maintain secure, resilient and reliable infrastructure services Working with colleagues and technical teams across a global organisation What we're looking for The role requires a good combination of
people management experience and technical infrastructure knowledge . Ideally, you'll bring: Experience
leading or managing an infrastructure or technical team Good people management experience, including
1-to-1s, absence management, performance and development A strong technical background within IT infrastructure Knowledge of
Windows Server, Microsoft Azure and virtualisation Good networking knowledge across areas such as
LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls and VPNs Experience working within hybrid on-premise and cloud environments Experience supporting technical escalations and operational issues Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills Experience with areas such as
storage and backup, ITIL, ServiceNow, automation or global IT environments
would also be beneficial. The opportunity You'll be joining an established and growing infrastructure function within a
large global organisation , taking responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of a team covering both compute and networking. It's a particularly good opportunity for an experienced
Infrastructure Team Lead, Technical Team Lead or infrastructure professional who has progressed into people management , while still enjoying being close to the technology.
