What the Application Engineer does

• Support the technical execution of projects, from design to commissioning;
• Define equipment specifications and parameters according to customer requirements;
• Define system configurations, review component sizing, perform calculations, and develop technical solutions;
• Ensure the integration of various systems within the project scope;
• Adapt design concepts to the project in progress and participate in product development when necessary;
• Support all stakeholders involved before and after the design process (Projects, Drafting, Manufacturing, Installation, and Commissioning).

The Application Engineer collaborates with

• Members of the Engineering team
• Product Line Managers
• Project Directors
• Drafting team
• Manufacturing
• Installation and Commissioning teams
• Travel to various sites across North America
• Number/Frequency of trips: 3–5 per year
• Duration of trips: 10–12 days

Main tasks while traveling

• Take measurements on existing equipment requiring modification;
• Participate in meetings with clients.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
• Advanced knowledge and use of spoken and written English (essential);
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Autonomy, methodical and rigorous approach, customer satisfaction mindset;
• Ability to work in a team and under pressure;
• Strong technical, interpersonal, and negotiation problem‑solving skills;
• Project management skills with proven experience;
• Knowledge of the sawmill industry is a major asset;
• Stress tolerance and ability to manage multiple priorities.
