Installations Manager – Data Centre / Critical Power Infrastructure

Overview

In this role, you will lead electrical installation projects for data centres, from handover to completion, ensuring safe, on-time delivery. You will coordinate installation teams and subcontractors across UK projects, overseeing UPS, PDUs, load Banks, switchgear, and cabling in live or new-build environments. You’ll support planning, reporting, and client coordination while upholding safety standards. This role offers a chance to shape critical infrastructure delivery within a global organisation and fast-paced projects.

Responsibilities
  • Own electrical installation projects from handover to completion
  • Coordinate on-site installation teams and subcontractors across multiple UK projects
  • Oversee installation of UPS, PDUs, load banks, power distribution, containment, and related electrical infrastructure
  • Conduct site surveys, review drawings, ensure installations meet specifications
  • Support project delivery activities including planning, scheduling, and client coordination
  • Act as on-site main point of contact for engineers, subcontractors, and customers
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, RAMS, and industry standards
  • Conduct toolbox talks and site inspections; resolve installation issues as they arise
  • Assist with quotations, installation planning, documentation, and progress reporting
  • Collaborate with internal PM and technical teams for successful delivery
Key requirements
  • Experience as Installations Manager, Electrical Supervisor, Site Manager, or similar in data centres or mission-critical environments
  • Hands-on electrical installation experience (UPS, PDUs, load banks, switchgear, cabling, power distribution)
  • Electrical qualifications essential (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) preferred
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and specs
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and on-site activities
  • Strong project coordination and organisational skills
  • Good health & safety understanding and safe systems of work
  • Full UK driving licence
