Overview

As Integration Architect, you define and evolve the enterprise integration strategy to enable scalable, secure connectivity across APIs, events, and data pipelines. You will align integration solutions with enterprise architecture, data governance, and compliance, while driving modernisation across the technology landscape. You collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security and Operations to deliver a cohesive integration roadmap. This role offers impact through shaping reusable integration patterns and reducing technical debt at scale. You will engage with senior stakeholders and contribute to a forward-looking architectural North Star.

Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain the enterprise integration architecture strategy including API management, event-driven patterns, messaging, ETL/ELT, and streaming
  • Set standards for secure transport, authentication/authorization (OAuth2, mTLS), schema governance, and API lifecycle
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, compliance, and data governance
  • Lead modernisation of the integration landscape for scalability, performance, and lower TCO
  • Promote reuse of shared services and common integration patterns to reduce duplication
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, and Operations to align roadmaps with the North Star
  • Define guardrails, governance processes, and best practices across platforms
  • Provide technical leadership at squad/programme level and influence design decisions
  • Represent architecture in Communities of Practice and drive knowledge sharing
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and third-party vendors to meet objectives
Key requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field (2:1 or higher)
  • Typically 10+ years in enterprise architecture with focus on integration and distributed systems
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into actionable architecture roadmaps and large-scale transformations
  • Deep expertise in enterprise integration technologies (MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services, IBM App Connect Enterprise)
  • Strong experience with event-driven architectures and messaging (Kafka, Azure Service Bus), plus microservices and containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Micronaut)
  • Solid understanding of API-led architecture and API management (Apigee, Azure API Management) and OAuth2/OIDC
  • Ability to evaluate new technologies and align them with long-term strategy
