Overview

In this role, you lead the Integration Engineering team within Saab Seaeye Fareham, overseeing the assembly, testing and commissioning of underwater robotics systems. You ensure delivery on time, maintain high quality, and support on-site commissioning and customer needs. You will drive continuous improvement and collaborate across departments to meet project objectives. This is a hands-on leadership role at the intersection of engineering, validation and field support.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Integration Engineering team in assembly, testing and commissioning of the underwater robotics fleet
  • Ensure team training to assemble sub-assemblies per customer specs and company documentation
  • Support product testing and prove system functionality including auxiliaries per customer requirements
  • Provide offsite/offshore commissioning and customer support as needed
  • Lead fault finding and repair activities and report issues in the required format
  • Process change requests to improve product quality and efficiency within the continual improvement framework
  • Interpret designs, electrical drawings and engineering information to assemble and test prototypes
  • Utilise relevant IT and systems to perform role efficiently
  • Apply judgment to develop practical solutions to day-to-day challenges
  • Comply with 6S and health & safety policies to maintain a safe working environment
  • Maintain professional relationships with other departments to meet delivery objectives
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Engineering Manager
Key requirements
  • Previous team leadership experience is essential
  • Ability to lead a fast-paced production area and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Minimum HNC/HND in Electronics
  • Good knowledge of fibre optic termination, equipment and testing
