Integrations Engineer

In this role you will design, build and maintain secure, scalable integrations that connect Pre-enrolment systems at Imperial College London. You will work in an agile, product-led team to deliver value across the learner journey, shaping solutions from discovery to deployment. You’ll leverage Azure integration services to enable enterprise-grade capabilities and contribute to a resilient, maintainable digital experience for prospective students. This is a hands-on role with emphasis on security, monitoring and continuous improvement, offering opportunities to influence student lifecycle workflows.

• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable integrations for Pre-enrolment products and services
• Develop integration solutions following well-architected patterns, coding standards and best practices
• Work with Azure Enterprise Integration Services (APIM, Logic Apps, Function Apps, Service Bus) to deliver integrations
• Design, develop and support APIs and system integrations (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML)
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Delivery Managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into value
• Contribute across the full product lifecycle from discovery to deployment and continuous improvement
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and assets using GitHub for modern DevOps and automated deployments
• Troubleshoot complex integration and service issues to meet performance and operational standards
• Ensure security, monitoring, resilience and maintainability in solutions and data handling
• Work in a cross-functional agile team to enhance the pre-enrolment experience for prospective students

• Experience developing and maintaining integrations in medium to large-scale organizations
• Experience with Azure Enterprise Integration Services (APIM, Logic Apps, Function Apps, Service Bus)
• Experience designing, developing and supporting APIs and system integrations (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML)
• Experience using GitHub for source control, release management, CI/CD and collaborative development
• Experience translating business requirements into robust technical solutions using agile methodologies
• Experience with Power Platform is highly desirable
• Knowledge of cloud-native integration patterns, event-driven architectures and enterprise integration best practices
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with stakeholders and communicating complex concepts clearly
• Experience in Agile, Scrum, Kanban or DevOps environments
• Knowledge of Higher Education technology landscapes and student lifecycle systems is advantageous
