Intermediate AI Software Engineer

Build production AI applications at Softchoice using Python, LLMs, and cloud-native services across Canadian locations. This intermediate role supports defined technical workstreams.

As a Software Engineer, AI, you will independently deliver complex components from design through deployment and operational support. You will translate requirements into secure, scalable software while advancing AI concepts into production. The work includes backend services, APIs, integrations, and enterprise data connections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, test, deploy, and support AI applications
• Translate requirements into designs, plans, estimates, and acceptance criteria
• Develop LLM, RAG, semantic search, and agentic workflow solutions
• Build secure backend services, APIs, integrations, and cloud components
• Productionize solutions through testing, observability, evaluation, and monitoring

Requirements:

• Typically four to six years of software engineering experience
• At least two years developing AI, machine learning, or generative AI solutions
• Strong Python and one additional programming language
• Experience with backend services, APIs, databases, and authentication
• Hands-on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud experience
