Intermediate AI Software Engineer

Build AI applications with LLMs and RAG as an intermediate Software Engineer at Softchoice. Work locations include Toronto, Ottawa, and Vancouver. This intermediate-level role delivers complex components and defined technical workstreams from design through deployment and operational support. You will translate requirements into secure, scalable software while moving AI concepts and proofs of concept into production. The work includes backend services, APIs, integrations, and cloud-native components. Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, test, deploy, and support production-ready AI applications Translate requirements into component designs and implementation plans Develop solutions using LLMs, RAG, and semantic search Build secure backend services, APIs, and enterprise integrations Productionize solutions through testing, observability, and monitoring Requirements:

Ability to deliver defined technical workstreams independently Experience with document and data processing Knowledge of embeddings, retrieval, prompting, and grounding Understanding of cloud-native components and enterprise systems Ability to collaborate with customers, architects, and engineers Apply AI engineering expertise across LLMs, RAG, backend services, and cloud-native software at Softchoice.
