Overview
In this role you will own analytics and experimentation instrumentation in the iOS apps, ensuring reliable, well-governed data at scale. You’ll work with product, analytics, and data teams across ASOS to deliver trustworthy event data for millions of users. You’ll contribute to a mature platform, upholding quality and user experience while acting as the iOS voice within a cross-functional engineering group. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position that shapes how customer behavior is captured and analyzed.

- Implement and maintain analytics event tracking in the iOS app following best practices and platform guidelines
- Collaborate with product managers, analysts and data engineers to translate event specs into instrumentation and ensure schema compliance
- Review PRs and help other iOS teams validate their events within the inner source model
- Investigate and resolve data quality issues and drive permanent fixes
- Support experimentation on iOS, including Optimizely SDK integration and experiment exposure
- Ensure code quality, maintainability, and testing to keep tracking changes safe and reliable
- Experience building iOS apps with Swift and core iOS frameworks
- Experience integrating third-party analytics SDKs (e.g., Mixpanel, Optimizely) or ability to learn quickly
- Understanding of event batching, queuing, and trade-offs for data completeness, battery, and network
- Familiarity with software design patterns and maintainable instrumentation
- Interest in writing clean, maintainable code and improving codebases
- Awareness of privacy and consent requirements for mobile tracking
- Comfort debugging data problems, inspecting payloads, and working with analysts to verify fixes (SQL/Databricks a bonus)
- Familiarity with unit testing and willingness to contribute to test coverage
- Experience with UI automation tools
