Senior iOS Engineer

Location: Bristol, UK
Working pattern: Hybrid
Rate: £375-£400 per day, inside IR35

We’re looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to join a large financial services organisation and play a key role in the security, development and scalability of its mobile applications.

You’ll be joining a specialist mobile security team responsible for building and maintaining a range of security components and services used across a large portfolio of mobile applications. The team works closely with mobile engineering, strategy and technology teams to ensure applications are secure, scalable and able to evolve alongside an ever-changing threat landscape.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll be designing, developing and delivering mobile components and services, with a particular focus on building reusable solutions that can be adopted across multiple engineering teams.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and developing high-quality iOS applications, components and SDKs
• Building scalable, reusable solutions that can be consumed across multiple engineering teams
• Working within a modularised iOS codebase and applying modern architectural patterns
• Working closely with engineering teams to drive reusability and reduce technical waste
• Designing performant and thread-safe solutions using modern Swift concurrency
• Contributing to engineering quality through testing, code reviews and continuous integration
• Collaborating with stakeholders and engineers across the wider mobile technology function
• Supporting the development of secure and robust mobile applications at significant scale

What we’re looking for

• Strong commercial experience developing iOS applications using Swift
• Excellent knowledge of modern iOS development tools including Xcode, Git, GitHub, XCTest and XCUITest
• Strong understanding of modular app architecture and frameworks-based modularisation
• Experience with architectural patterns such as MVVM
• Hands-on experience building, maintaining and integrating SDKs
• Strong understanding of Swift concurrency, including async/await, GCD and Operations
• Experience designing performant and thread-safe solutions
• A track record of delivering high-quality, production-scale iOS applications
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working across multiple engineering teams
• Experience with engineering practices such as Pair Programming, TDD, Code Reviews, Continuous Integration and automated testing

Desirable experience

• Knowledge of mobile security principles , including secure storage, authentication flows and handling sensitive data
• Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with tools such as GitHub Actions and Fastlane
• Experience implementing automated build, test and deployment processes
