IT Asset and Configuration Analyst

Overview
In this role you will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets, ensuring the CMDB reflects accurate, compliant data and supports cost control. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to drive SACM best practices, generate visibility on asset utilisation, and identify efficiency opportunities. The position offers a chance to develop SACM expertise in a supportive, collaborative environment and to impact compliance and operational efficiency. Hybrid UK work locations and SC clearance readiness are part of the opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Monitor asset lifecycle aligned to SACM best practices
- Ensure CMDB accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Perform asset tracking, inventory checks, and compliance reviews
- Produce reports on asset utilisation, cost, and compliance
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements
- Assist stakeholders with asset-related queries and support
- Support internal and external audits and compliance activities
- Assist with testing ITAM tooling integrations and CMDB processes
Key requirements
- UK Government Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- 2+ years in IT Asset Management or related role
- Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, ManageEngine, Remedy, Snow/Flexara)
- Strong understanding of SACM, ITAM lifecycle, and inventory best practices
- Awareness of software licensing models (Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle)
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Advanced Excel; Power BI desirable
- Excellent communication and attention to detail
- Desirable: ITIL 4, ServiceNow knowledge and MS certifications
