Overview

As an IT Business Analyst in QBE’s Europe change delivery team, you bridge business and technology to deliver underwriting application change and transformation. You elicit and translate requirements into practical solutions, collaborating across Europe and India with business users and IT. You shape Epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria, while guiding risk-based decision making and ensuring solution validation. You’ll work with cross-functional stakeholders to map processes, support delivery plans, and drive measurable outcomes in a fast-paced insurer environment. This role offers meaningful impact by improving underwriting processes and system capabilities at a global insurer.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as Insurance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Bridge between business stakeholders, underwriting, operations, and technology to capture and translate requirements
  • Elicit, analyse, document, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements
  • Facilitate workshops with underwriting, operations, product, claims, finance, and technology stakeholders
  • Translate business needs into Epics, Features, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and process models
  • Perform gap analyses and impact assessments for system changes
  • Develop As-Is and To-Be process maps and target operating models
  • Support validation of solutions against acceptance criteria through test planning and execution
  • Collaborate with Architects/Development teams to produce design specifications
  • Identify and assess risks; lead risk dialogue and support risk-informed decisions
  • Support end-users with requirements understanding and process documentation
  • Collaborate with developers and SMEs to meet SLAs
  • Participate in implementation planning and support successful outcomes
  • Legal right to work in the UK; sponsorship possible at discretion
Key requirements
  • Proven BA experience in Insurance domain with PAS exposure
  • Commercial Insurance experience with understanding of its challenges
  • Strong change management capabilities with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and collaborative mindset
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments with ambiguity
  • Ability to foster a culture of learning and apply new insights
  • Knowledge of heterogeneous technologies and mainstream IT architectures
  • Expertise in defining BA approaches for complex programs
  • Impartiality and balanced perspectives
  • Proactive in identifying issues and taking corrective action
  • Self-driven with urgency and results focus
  • Experience in Agile or DevOps environments
  • Extensive experience with Consumer Lines systems (e.g., Change, Guidewire, Evolve)
  • IT experience in BPR, commercial analysis, SLA development/monitoring, and business transformation
