Overview

As IT Director for a City bank, you will lead software development and infrastructure, driving IT transformation to boost efficiency and customer experience across channels. You’ll work with senior stakeholders to set IT strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and report progress to the Board. This role combines hands-on leadership with strategic oversight in a hybrid London setting, offering a meaningful impact on digital banking. Responsibilities
  • Oversee software development and infrastructure teams
  • Lead end-to-end software and application development projects
  • Drive IT transformation initiatives to improve operations and customer satisfaction
  • Deliver IT solutions across online banking, mobile, and in-branch channels
  • Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Treasury, Risk & Compliance, Data Governance, and Business Transformation to plan IT needs
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
  • Manage IT budgets, resources, and vendor relationships
  • Report IT strategy, progress and performance to the Board
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Key requirements
  • Minimum 10 years IT management experience
  • Extensive software and application development leadership
  • Proven IT transformation project experience in banking (investment/private)
  • Strong understanding of banking operations, regulations, and compliance
  • Experience leading both software and infrastructure teams
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders including HR, Finance, Risk and Compliance, and Data Governance
