IT Engineer

In this role you provide first-line IT support for a warehouse environment, diagnosing and resolving incidents to restore services quickly while coordinating with higher support levels. You will assist both floor and office users, support the warehouse IT system, and contribute to long-term issue resolution. Training on the warehouse application is provided, and you will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain operational continuity.

• Provide 1st line support to warehouse users via phone, ticketing system, and in-person
• Deliver functional support for the warehouse IT system with user guidance and basic configuration
• Triage, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day IT incidents (hardware, applications, access, connectivity)
• Perform basic Linux administration tasks (service/log checks, permissions, connectivity)
• Support and troubleshoot Oracle/SQL issues with basic queries and liaising with DB/admin teams
• Log, prioritise and manage incidents/requests in line with SLAs with clear user updates
• Escalate complex issues to 2nd/3rd line or vendors with documented diagnostics
• Contribute to problem management by identifying recurring issues and proposing fixes/workarounds
• Support shift operations and handovers to maintain operational continuity

• Experience in a 1st line/service desk/onsite support or equivalent customer-facing IT support
• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work calmly under pressure
• Working knowledge of Windows/Microsoft end-user environments (desktop support; M365/AD exposure helpful)
• Practical Linux skills (basic command line, service/log checks, networking basics)
• Exposure to Oracle and/or SQL (basic queries, understanding common database faults)
• Strong communication skills with non-technical users in a fast-paced warehouse environment
