Role Profile

- Salary: £30,000 to £32,000 per annum
- Conditions: UK travel / full clean driving licence required
Overview
- Provide on-site technical support to clients across the UK, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of IT systems
- Deliver a high standard of customer service, ensuring clear communication and minimal disruption during site visits
- Support and contribute to IT projects such as migrations, deployments, upgrades, and office moves
- Work collaboratively with project teams to complete tasks in line with project plans and timelines
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues both on-site and remotely
- Assist the service desk when not in the field, handling escalated tickets and maintaining service levels
- Maintain accurate documentation, update tickets, and follow internal processes and standards
- Build strong working relationships with clients and internal teams
- Manage time effectively to balance travel, project work, and support responsibilities
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability when working across different environments and priorities
Key Responsibilities
- Providing on-site technical support across the UK, including installations, troubleshooting, and infrastructure maintenance
- Assisting with 1st and 2nd line support tasks, responding to support queries via phone, email, and ticketing systems
- Supporting and troubleshooting server infrastructure, ensuring systems remain secure, stable, and performant
- Working in a customer-centric MSP environment, delivering a high standard of service and communication at all times
- Contributing to IT projects such as migrations, deployments, upgrades, and new site setups
- Escalating and resolving complex technical issues in collaboration with senior engineers and project teams
- Administering and supporting Active Directory environments, including Group Policy management
- Managing and supporting Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 environments, including MFA and security best practices
- Supporting networking technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, and wireless configurations
- Implementing and maintaining firewall solutions (e.g. Fortigate, Cisco, SonicWall, WatchGuard)
- Managing and supporting backup solutions such as Azure Backup and Veeam, ensuring data protection and recovery processes are in place
- Supporting virtualised environments including Hyper-V, VMware, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
- Assisting the helpdesk team when not on-site, handling escalations and maintaining service level agreements
- Maintaining accurate documentation, updating tickets, and adhering to internal processes and standards
- Proactively identifying recurring issues and recommending improvements to systems and processes
- This role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong technical capability, and the flexibility to manage a varied workload across field support, project work, and service desk responsibilities.

Experience
- A passion for a wide range of enterprise grade infrastructure technology is essential (networking, server and endpoint, cloud, security).
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar IT role.
- Experience of working with and supporting a range of information technologies, the following preferred:
- Microsoft technologies: 365, Azure, Windows, AD, Server OS
- Cyber security: firewalls, web filters, advanced protection and recovery
- Cloud technologies
- VMware / Hyper‑V
- Back‑up solutions: Veeam
- Experience supporting Apple MAC would be beneficial
