Bromley Healthcare is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking IT Infrastructure and Client Computing Manager to lead the delivery, security & continual improvement of our core digital services. This is an exciting opportunity for a technology leader with expertise in Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, cyber security and modern digital technologies, including the safe adoption of AI-enabled solutions.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job role include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and develop the Infrastructure and Client Computing team, driving service performance, resilience and continual improvement.
  • Manage supplier relationships and third-party support contracts, ensuring effective performance and value for money.
  • Oversee delivery of technical cyber security controls supporting Cyber Essentials Plus, DSPT and NHS cyber security standards.
  • Ensure infrastructure, cloud and end-user computing services support audit readiness, cyber resilience, business continuity and incident response.
  • Maintain infrastructure platforms within vendor support and lead the planning and delivery of upgrades and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure compliance with patching, endpoint protection and cyber security standards.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for infrastructure and client computing service issues and provide leadership, coaching and development to technical staff, maximising team capability and performance.
  • Provide specialist expertise across Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune, virtualisation and cloud services.

To be considered for this role applicants will need:

Need at least five years’ relevant experience managing IT infrastructure and client computing services in a large, multi-site organisation, or an IT-related degree or equivalent industry qualification.

Demonstrable experience designing, managing and troubleshooting enterprise networks, including LAN, WAN, wireless, routing, switching, firewalls and network security.

Significant experience managing Microsoft-based infrastructure and end-user computing services , including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Autopilot or equivalent technologies.

Demonstrable experience implementing or overseeing cyber security controls , including Cyber Essentials Plus or equivalent, secure configuration, patching, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection and access control.

Experience leading technical staff and managing operational IT services , including major incidents, service performance, suppliers and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Management qualification CCNA, CCNP or equivalent networking certification CISSP, CISM or equivalent cyber security certification Relevant Microsoft infrastructure, cloud or security certification ITIL Foundation or higher

Training

  • Evidence of Continuing IT Professional Development
  • Recruitment and Performance Management training
  • Knowledge & experience in use of Microsoft365 and CoPilot
  • Knowledge & experience in use of AI Tools
  • Knowledge & experience in use of IT infrastructure (networking, data centre and telephony),
  • Knowledge & experience in use of Cyber Security
  • Knowledge & experience in use of End user computing (Intune) & Common IT applications
  • Good verbal, listening, written communication skill, Good organisational , negotiation, persuasion & Good presentation skills

Experience

  • 5 Years Technical Management Experience
  • Experience managing stakeholders, third-party suppliers and contracts within a complex IT environment
  • Experience in the day-to-day operational management of complex IT infrastructure
  • IT Management within NHS environment
  • Experience planning and leading cyber security, AI governance and digital resilience improvements within NHS, public sector or regulated environment

Personal Qualities

  • Determined and self-motivated, with genuine interest in subject matter
  • Able to work effectively in a complex multi professional environment with limited resources
  • Confidence and resilience, Willingness to learn and develop as well as Proactive and innovative thinker

Information Technology/Information Governance

  • Network architecture, protocols and technologies
  • Cyber security certification or training (CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+)
  • Significant experience managing Microsoft-based infrastructure and end-user computing services
  • NHS Cyber security and CE/CE+
  • AI-related technical, operational, security and governance risks, implementing appropriate controls to support safe and compliant use of AI technologies

Salary is determined by NHS experience and current banding/pay point. External applicants will begin at the entry point of the salary scale in line with NHS terms and conditions.
