Overview
As IT Infrastructure Manager you will lead the design, deployment and operation of Microsoft-based server, communications and cloud solutions for a fintech client. You’ll guide a small engineering team and own the delivery of hybrid and on-premises infrastructure projects. The role blends hands-on technical leadership with architecture, documentation and vendor liaison to keep systems secure and resilient. This is a high-autonomy position reporting to senior leadership in a global firm.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership, coaching and management of the Infrastructure team
- Oversee key deliverables and report progress to management
- Design and deliver Windows-based infrastructure including Azure, on-premise and hybrid
- Manage hybrid cloud infrastructure (servers, storage, security, virtualization)
- Document systems, architecture, configuration and testing evidence
- Create solution designs, costings and basic project management for implementations
- Collaborate on desktop builds/images integration with server infra
- Own backup, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity for server solutions
- Provide 2nd line support for complex infrastructure queries
- Ensure assets are tracked in CMDB and maintain configuration parameters
- Keep application software and patches up to date
- Maintain test and development environments
- Microsoft infrastructure qualifications (e.g., MCSE)
- Experience designing/implementing Azure-based services (ADFS, Virtualisation, SaaS, PaaS)
- Experience with resilient services (load balancing, availability sets, geo-redundancy, Azure updates)
- Azure DR and backup solutions experience
- Office 365 interoperability experience
- Strong on-premise and hybrid server solutions management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Exposure to IS27001 standards (desirable)
- Basic network/comms (IP, Routing, VLAN) experience
