Overview

Senior IT Infrastructure Solutions Architect to shape AVEVA’s hybrid platforms, leading architecture and design for on-prem, cloud, and automation initiatives. You’ll work with I&O and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, secure infrastructure that aligns with the strategic roadmap. You will define standards, govern quality, and guide complex programmes while keeping platforms current and high-performing. This role offers impact across global enterprise environments and a strong focus on automation and observability.

Responsibilities
  • Define reference architectures and target-state designs for VMware VCF 9.0 platform and lifecycle patterns
  • Define Aria Operations observability strategy including telemetry, alerts, capacity governance, and reporting
  • Define VCF Automation platform approach and guide implementation and sustainment
  • Define backup/recovery architecture using Veeam and Data Domain with DR readiness patterns
  • Define hybrid cloud architecture and operating model across Azure and AWS (connectivity, identity, monitoring, backups, security)
  • Define VDI/RDS architectures and standards for Omnissa Horizon, Workspace ONE, and Microsoft RDS
  • Define enterprise image/template strategy with repeatable build pipelines (Packer, VMware Content Library)
  • Lead solution design and implementation for major infrastructure programmes, migrations and refresh initiatives
  • Serve as escalation point for complex incidents and ensure post-incident outputs in ServiceNow
  • Establish engineering standards for automation and configuration management
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provider solutions with formal recommendations
  • Mentor and coach infrastructure engineers to raise engineering standards and knowledge

Key requirements
  • At least 12 years of infrastructure/platform engineering experience with architecture ownership and hands-on delivery
  • Expert-level virtualization/private cloud experience (VMware/VCF strongly preferred)
  • Experience deploying Horizon/Workspace ONE/RDS at enterprise scale (preferred)
  • Strong storage architecture expertise (SAN Fibre Channel/iSCSI, VSAN, NAS, software-defined storage)
  • Experience or exposure to infrastructure-as-code
  • Proven ability to architect/operationalize enterprise monitoring (Logic Monitor and Aria Operations)
  • Proven ability to architect, govern, and troubleshoot provisioning automation (VCF Automation)
  • Proven backup/recovery architecture and DR testing experience (Veeam/Data Domain)
  • Hybrid cloud expertise across Azure and AWS (preferred)
  • Strong Windows Server and Linux engineering skills
  • Experience in global enterprise environments with audit/compliance expectations
