IT Manager

In this contract IT Manager role, you will review the client’s technology landscape, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and lead delivery of transformation initiatives. You will balance strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, coordinating internal teams and external suppliers. The position focuses on governance, cyber security, and the Microsoft 365 environment to enable safer, better-enabled technology for the business. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to translate technical issues into practical actions and drive progress.

• Review current technology setup, suppliers, Microsoft 365 environment and cyber security posture
• Identify key risks, issues, gaps and opportunities for improvement
• Develop and prioritise recommendations and an action plan
• Lead and coordinate technology improvement actions with internal stakeholders and suppliers
• Provide trusted technology advice to the senior team
• Maintain oversight of technology risks, actions and progress
• Identify longer-term technology leadership, governance and capability requirements

• Strong experience in IT or technology management, ideally in an SME
• Experience reviewing technology environments and identifying risks, gaps and opportunities for improvement
• Good understanding of cyber security, Microsoft 365 and technology governance
• Experience managing and working with external technology suppliers
• Strong project, transformation or technology improvement experience
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders and translate technical issues into clear, practical actions
• Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies and action plans
• Able to operate strategically and hands-on, taking ownership and driving actions to completion
