IT Network Technician - Telecoms

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Network Technician to support their telecommunications infrastructure in Kimberley . This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network hardware and software. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the company's network, providing essential support to end-users and contributing to the overall IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, access points, and cabling.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues for both wired and wireless users.
• Perform routine network maintenance, including software updates and security patching.
• Monitor network performance and identify potential issues before they impact users.
• Assist in the implementation of new network projects and upgrades under senior guidance.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users regarding network-related queries.

Requirements

• Relevant technical qualification or certification in IT, Networking, or Telecommunications.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in IT network support or a similar role.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and basic routing.
• Experience with network hardware from major vendors is advantageous.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently.
• Good communication skills and a customer-service oriented approach for clients in Kimberley .
