In this role, you ensure reliable, secure Windows-based infrastructure and Cisco networks within a highly regulated defence environment. You will lead complex infrastructure improvements, mentor engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders to sustain operational capability. The position combines hands-on administration with technical leadership in a mission-driven setting. You will work at RAF Waddington, contributing to secure, cutting-edge IT services that underpin critical defence technologies.

- Support and administer enterprise Windows workstation and network environments
- Lead investigation and resolution of complex infrastructure and network incidents
- Plan and implement OS upgrades, software deployments and infrastructure enhancements
- Configure and support Cisco network technologies in secure environments
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset records and configuration information
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and support teams
- Experience supporting and administering enterprise Microsoft Windows environments
- Strong infrastructure and networking knowledge with ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Hands-on experience with Cisco network technologies
- Experience delivering OS upgrades, software deployments or infrastructure improvement projects
- Experience in secure, defence, government or highly regulated environments
- Ability to provide technical leadership and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Active MOD DV clearance
- Relevant industry certification such as CCNA, ITIL Foundation or equivalent
- Evidence of continuing professional development in infrastructure, networking or IT operations
- Collaborative mindset with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Mentoring and guidance to junior engineers
- Effective problem-solving under pressure
